Happy Monday!
Have you got all your presents ready? All pretty and wrapped and ready to go? Or maybe you need a little something.. just a cute and quick little project of handmadeness?
How about making a few appliquéd hearts like these ones?
They are super easy to make and you can make them as simple or as complicated as you like. Add several layers of appliqué if you fancy, or maybe just one. Or you can add your favourite embellishments, like beads or sequins or buttons. And why not sew on ribbon so you can hang it from the tree or somewhere else.
Maybe you could fill them with lavender or something else that smells nice!
I have been using one of these as a happy pincushion. A heart shaped pincushion is not the worst thing to have! Don’t worry too much about making the stitches perfect. The charm is in the imperfections!
You can find a template for the hearts here. And you can download it too. There’s a wee download icon below the file preview.
Speaking of imperfections.. here’s the wrong side of the front of one of the hearts. It looks a bit messy, but who cares! ;-) You can make the hearts entirely by hand or you can stitch the front and back together with a sewing machine. It is a bit quicker after all!
And now for something completely different! Paper cones, or kræmmerhuse as we call them in Danish.
The lovely Kathryn of The Pickled Herring asked me if I would share a Danish Christmas something-or-other with her readers and how could I resist that?! So if you fancy making a paper cone or two hop on over to The Pickled Herring and have a look at the tutorial I made for paper cones.
Just a quick note to let you know that a link to this post will be placed on CraftCrave today [21 Dec 01:00am GMT]. Thanks, Maria
