Happy Winter Solstice

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, the Winter Solstice! Now the days will start getting longer and I am very much looking forward to that!

My pages for this season are almost done, jus the poem to stitch on the right hand page. And then there are just a few other things to do and the whole project will be finished. It seems almost crazy that I have been working on this for almost a whole year…

I’m quite please with how the holly has turned out but I’m not so sure about the mistletoe. Maybe it’s because the mistletoe is kind of oversized… I like the page anyway. :-)

What I am a little annoyed with myself about is that I let the appliqué get too close to the edge. Even with a 1/2″ margin all the way around. I guess I know for next time to add 3/4″.

I’m not sure that the spindle plant is recognisable as such? I’ve never seen one in real life, that I can recall anyway, so I have no idea if my interpretation is anywhere near what it looks like. But it’s fine. I’m counting on once the whole thing is put together then it will all look ok… :-)
