One of the workshops I took part in at the Fat Quarterly Retreat earlier this year was screen printing with Karen Lewis.
That was just totally awesome. I could easily have spent all day doing that. :-)
I managed to get a few pieces of fabric printed and then brought home the rest of the ink to use later. Which I have – hopefully soon I can take some decent pictures of what I made. In the meantime…
The other day, I cut out one of the ‘misprints’ and just started adding embroidery to it. No plan or anything, just stitching here and there as I fancied. I even added a bit of Kreinik sparkle, ‘coz it felt right. ;-)
I made four different designs and I am definitely going to play with the other ones and stitching as well.
And is it weird that I really, really like the back of this too? I love how the stitching is kinda crazy all over the place… :-)
