This is it! Look! This!! This is the book I wrote! Me! You’ll forgive the excessive exclamation points, I hope, because this is really big for me. So here are a few more: !!!!!!!!!!
(Edit, many years later: Sorry about the missing pictures in this post...)
This is my advance copy. And because of our move and stuff, my publisher sent it to my inlaws’ address, so there it was, waiting for me in an unassuming padded envelope. I called my mum and dad on Skype straightaway. So I could open the envelope on video. Yeah, that’s the sort of thing I do. Tony and his dad had gone to get takeaway, so Tony missed the epic Opening of The Envelope moment! ;-)
Here’s the end paper on the cover. I love how they added a wee flower there. And used a green that is basically my favourite colour. Yay! I am really chuffed with the graphic design of the book, the designer etc did a fab job. And look, there’s a CD with all the motifs on it, so you mix & match and scale the motifs up and down as you like. :-)
And you know I love colour, so I am so so happy that there is a section about colour theory in the book. I hope people will find it useful! (And not too theoretical.)
This is one of my favourite projects in the book: a baby quilt with appliqued acorns and leaves. Oh I almost forgot: here’s a link to the book on Amazon UK where you can pre-order Stitched Blooms, it’s out in October. You can find it on other versions of Amazon too and proably lots of other places that have pre-order available. (book link is an affiliate link).
Here’s a wee Instagram video of me flipping through the book minutes after I opened the envelope. :-)
Right, so, my publisher very kindly put together a little booklet with a preview of the book – as well as a few of the patterns! I brought a big stack along to the Fat Quarterly Retreat and gave ’em out to anyone who wanted one. But I kept a few so I could give them away here on the blog. Yay!
So there are 3 of these booklets up for grabs, just leave a comment on this post by Friday, August 16th at 8pm UK time. The giveaway is now closed! Thank you for entering. The winners will be picked and announced shortly! :-)
* Both comments left via the Disqus and the native Blogger commenting system are accepted.
* In the rare case that you are unable to leave a comment via either, you can also enter by emailing me. But please give the comments a couple of tries atleast. Closing and opening the browser also helps sometimes. And you may be able to enter via a different device like a mobile phone or tablet.
* There must be an easy, straightforward way to contact you if you’re the winner of the giveaway. Email address, Twitter @, Flickr name or a link to your blog where I can easily find your email address. I will not notify the winner via comment on your blog.
* Anonymous entries can not be accepted.
* One person = one entry.
If you don’t want to rely on lady luck to pick your name, I have also put the remaining 12 booklets in the shop. Not to make any money from them, the amount charged is simply to pay for the postage. If the postage is less than the ‘price’ of the booklet, you will get a refund. This will certainly be the case for UK peeps. :-)
