Continuing with the house redecorating projects. This is a couple of before shots of the porch in our house. I don’t have a shot that shows all of it in its before state so you’ll just have to imagine that. It is a pretty small space, only a little larger than the width of the actual door.
We didn’t have to do too much to this room. But there was a ridiculous amount of screws in the walls and that’s before we started taking down the weird hooks and ugly lamps. So there was a lot of holes to be patched and sanded.
As you can see, we tried out a bunch of brown-ish colours for the wall, because that magnolia had.to.go. I think we auditioned both of the colours here that we ended up using in the bedroom.
This is our porch after the makeover. In the end we decided to go for this awesome green colour. It may even have been Tony who suggested it, which is slightly surprising; he’s not as colour crazy happy as I am. ;-)
It’s a pretty great colour, isn’t it? It’s called Melon Sorbet. Yum. So fresh and happy.
And you see that the porch really is quite small!
Because of its smallness, there’s not room for a lot of storage, but we’ve got the essentials: coat hooks, a couple of storage boxes, that also double as seats, and a shoe cupboard. As well as an all year Yule goat called Oluf. Obviously.
Contemporary lights. No faux Rococo shenanigans going on here anymore. ;-)
As I mentioned, we didn’t need to do a lot to this room, the main job was painting the walls. But it feels like a completely different room I think. Really happy with it.
