When I made the frame for my Gloriana embroidery, I had some off cuts leftover. I didn’t know what to do with them, so I sewed them together to make a rectangle.
Then I grabbed some pink fabric out of the scrap box and all of a sudden I was working on this appliqué branch type thing. I like doing appliqué. It is both fairly mindless, but you also have to concentrate on what you’re doing.
Does that even make sense? :-D
Anyway. After I finished the appliqué, I tacked on some batting and did this kantha style running stitch to make it a tiny quilt I guess. I like how it turned out. The running stitches obscure the patchwork background a bit, so it feels less patchwork-y.
Not sure what to do with it now. Maybe add some loops so I can hang it on the wall.
Have an excellent Sunday, friends. xo
Sigh…I love it!! The applique is the perfect touch and the running stitches seal the deal. Initially, I thought you had made a little zipper pouch out of it. It would be lovely as a wall hanging!!
I love your big stitches. I bet the texture is wonderful.
Seriously? I love to see how artists can take scraps and just turn them into beauty! Me, I need a pattern…..sigh….Your project is fun and precious! Yet another reason why I love your blog so much!
