I made a new fabric collection (that sounds very fancy!) over on Spoonflower. It’s called Tropical Leaves because it is all about leaves and fruity, tropical colours. :-)
I wanted to see what I could do with just a few leaves (and dots) and limited number of colours. This is what I came up with! I’m really happy with how they turned out.
It was really fun to play with these designs. There are different scales of design and variation in the ‘density’ of the designs. Some have big designs and some have smaller designs. Some are really densely filled and others have space in between the different elements.
I also wanted contrasting colour and complementing colour. So they can be combined in lots of ways. Mostly pinks (yes!) or mostly blue or green. Blue with yellow, green with orange, pink with green etc etc. Or just put them all together in one happy mix!
Not sure what I am going to make with my swatches, but I think maybe I will use some of them to make a very bright and cheerful bag for myself. :-)
