Blogger to WordPress?

For a long while I have been thinking about changing from Blogger to WordPress to run my blog. I even bookmarked some tutorials for doing just that, but now I can’t find them!

WordPress would give me more control over the blog, especially the look of it. There are some things that Blogger just can’t do.

Also, is it weird that the address for the blog is carinascraftblog.wardi.dk? It would be better, more streamlined if the blog was hosted at carinascraftblog.com (I do own that domain, it points over here to the blog).

I keep umming and ahing about it. Mainly because I’m worried that I’ll somehow delete all my posts. Or that all the links back to the blog will be broken. So many things could go wrong! It’d be most unfortunate for the blog to become un-tethered from it’s current place in the internet-sphere. If that makes sense…

For the past couple of years, I’ve been using WordPress to run my shop site, so I am getting more comfortable using it. But WordPress still seems kinda confusing to me. I think because the same thing can be altered in more than one place or something. It’s kinda confusing.

And maybe this post is confusing too. It probably doesn’t make much difference to the readers of the blog how it’s run?

Have you moved from Blogger to WordPress? Any words of advice for doing so?

I moved my blogs from Blogger to WordPress in 2016 because I was fed up of trying to post on Blogger from my iPad. Like you, I had some experience with WordPress but wasn’t very confident with it.
I have never regretted changing. I use the iPad WordPress app, and post about once a week, and haven’t had any problems.

I did this a couple of years back and I don't regret it at all! You can pay for the transfer or do it yourself. I found it simple to transfer it myself, and it took maybe a day with other tweaks. Etsy has some lovely templates available at great prices, if you wanted to go custom. If you google "Blogger to WordPress transfer" there are loads of resources that will help you step by step :)
