Geese Mini Quilt

Overhead view of a mini quilt made from four small blocks of triangles set in a pink background. The four blocks together form a circle of triangles.

I made this small quilt top ages ago. Then I quilted it Very Badly using free motion quilting. And then the wee quilt sat in a basket for a few years until I found it recently and decided that i really should unpick that Very Bad free motion quilting.

I really should have taken a before picture picture because it really was Very Bad. :-)

The hand quilting I did instead was very relaxing. Running stitch going in one direction and then going over those stitches in the other direction. It gives it a very lovely texture.

The foundation paper piecing pattern for the blocks was in one of the English quilting magazines a few years ago. I think I shrank the pattern a bit to make the quilt extra mini.

Somehow the top has got these stains on it. Not sure what from since it was in a basket, not touching anything that should be able to stain it. Weird. But I don’t mind it. It makes it look kinda vintage. :-)

I love this particular Liberty print very much, Phoebe. It is just so pretty. I would love to make a quilt where this fabric is the star of the show. Maybe, one day. :-)
