I am very happy to have finished a new pattern: Daffodils.
Lately, making patterns has been a bit of a challenge because I had to cut way back on stitching since I had issues with my thumb. So a new pattern feels like a minor victory! :-)
I have two other patterns in the works, and hopefully I can finish those soon.
Anyway, the daffodils! I love daffodils and I really wanted to make a pattern to celebrate them. As you can see, I kept the design really simple, to give the daffodils all the focus. I worked each one in one stitch, inspired by medieval embroidery stitches: Bayeux stitch, brick stitch and trellis stitch.

I really love Bayeux stitch, that’s the stitch used for the light yellow daffodil. And I especially love how you can create contrasts of light and texture by alternating the stitch direction. No wonder our medieval forebears used it so much.
You can get your own copy of Daffodils right here in my shop. :-)
